Swell Flush Mount Rod Holder with cap

This Rod Holder sits nearly flush with your kayak deck so it requires cutting a hole in your kayak large enough to fit the diameter rod holder (approx. 5cm diameter) The holder is installed so the butt of your rod is at an angle so the hole is not round (ovalized) and will be larger in one dimension than this diameter. 3 holes will need to be drilled for fastening (bolts, nuts & washers, or cherry rivets or screws)

The hole for the rod holder will need to be oval and is best accomplished using a hole saw on your drill (either drill straight down and expand the dimensions with a rasp/file or cut with a knife etc. this method is often required when using a spring steel/multi size hole saw. Preferred is using a rigid hole saw cut the hole at an angle to match the angle of the rod holder shaft when installed (use rod holder as a guide to judge this. This requires a longer guide bit in the centre of your hole saw.
