Surge’s Canoe Thwart comes in two sizes to fit different locations but can also be cut to length. Thwarts are used to add rigidity or provide a leaning rail (when paddling on your knees). Also used to replace an old or damaged thwart.
Canoe Thwarts give rigidity to the canoe as well as provide a canoeist who is kneeling in the boat something to lean against This thwart will fit a variety of canoes including the Surge Yukon and Venture Canoes, and MadRiver Explorer and Journey series.
Measure your required width prior to ordering and select the best size to ensure it fit- Can be trimmed smaller but not made longer (note tapers do limit the amount that can be shortened .
